Q: Dear Rev. Sandy,
With all the diverse religious practices in the world, do you feel that there is a common belief that weaves through all faiths? – Robin, San Clemente, CA
A: Yes. I believe that most religions profess that the ultimate goal is to attain a personal and intimate relationship with God. Although there may be different “names” for God or that higher power, most religions establish the importance of an understanding and connection with this divine force in our universe. We believe that there are many paths to one God.
Q: Dear Rev. Sandy,
How do you explain destructive or negative forces that show up in our world? - Michael, Lake Forest, CA
A: God is always present in the universe no matter what circumstances may appear on the physical level. God never disconnects from us. However, we do at times disconnect from God. We, as individuals have been given free will and choice in our actions. From this, we may or may not be functioning in accord with God and the universe.
Q: As Reverend of an interfaith community of New Thought individuals, what is your relationship with Jesus? - Jaime, Laguna Niguel, CA
A: I feel that Jesus was one of the greatest spiritual teachers in history. He was at the highest level of communing with God and a direct conduit for God’s message of love and compassion. Jesus was a way shower for all of us. He demonstrated that by living our Truth, which is God’s Truth, the world could exist in peace and harmony. He lived that Truth and died for what he believed in, encouraging us to seek that same Truth for ourselves.
